The Market Grocery has been built around the cornerstones of quality, selection, and value ever since our first fruits and vegetables were harvested in the summer of 1969, and those strong traditions continue today.  We believe in offering local farmers a fair price for their hard work getting food to our tables and we specialize in hard-to-find local favourites like marsh greens, gooseberries, beet greens, fiddleheads, and crabapples.

Fresh from the field harvests begin in early May with beet greens, fiddle heads and asparagus, then by mid-June local Millen Farms strawberries are arriving. Local peas, beans, carrots and new potatoes make for a delicious NS Hodge Podge as the summer progresses.  By August the raspberries, wild blueberries and corn are filling the produce bins followed by an abundant fall harvest of turnips, cabbage, pumpkins, squash and more!

For over 50 years, Masstown Market has been featuring Nova Scotia apples and pears, with over a dozen varieties in stock at any one time.  Quality produce from select growers in California, Florida, South America, and the world over, offer our customers the freshest fruits and vegetables our produce manager can source year round.

The grocery aisles, dairy coolers and freezers are stocked with most anything our customers are looking for and somethings you just can't find anywhere else. There is a gluten free section and bulk food area with a great variety of nuts, confectioneries and more!

We have a great selection of pet foods and we never forget our feathered friends, with suet and seeds always in stock.
